Honda | San Francisco, CA

San Francisco Honda is part of a long-held family run auto dealership dating back 50 years. Residing in its current location since the late 1970’s. The building sits on a prominent corner near the city’s Civic Center, and has an interesting history. From the 1930’s - 50’s the building was home to 2 dance ballrooms, then the Fillmore West in the 1960’s. SF Honda underwent a major renovation in the mid-1990’s.

In late 2002, the dealership wanted to add new signage, and discovered that it had an outstanding Planning Code violation. They asked us to evaluate the problem and propose a new look to the building that would meet the Planning Department’s narrow signage regulations, while making it easily visible to cars traveling along Market Street and Van Ness Avenue, both major thoroughfares. At a modest cost, of course! With paint, new awnings and new signage San Francisco Honda has a clean and clear presence on a very messy inner-city intersection.
