Western Kitchen | San Francisco, CA

In this San Francisco home, we worked with a family to transform their kitchen from a simple cooking station into a comfortable room for family gatherings, quiet reflection, and the entertainment of guests. By changing the floor plan, we created enough space for an island that serves both as a secondary food preparation area and an informal barstool-style eating place. An adjacent, little-used utility room was converted into an airy lounging area complete with a deep-cushioned window seat with a view of the back garden. This project was the cover feature in Sunset Magazine in February 2002.
